Dan Schoenberg for Latah County Commissioner
Practical leadership. Responsible growth. Transparent government.
For generations, Dan Schoenberg’s family has called the Palouse home. As a local business co-owner, former University of Idaho executive, and longtime community leader, Dan is running for Latah County Commissioner to ensure county government stays focused on what matters most: fiscal responsibility, balanced growth, long-term water security, and strong public services.
Dan has managed multi-million-dollar budgets, negotiated complex contracts, and overseen essential operations serving thousands of people. He understands how policy decisions affect families, seniors, farmers, and small businesses. Now, he’s ready to bring that experience to county government—prioritizing safety, infrastructure, and accountability.
As a husband, father, and grandfather rooted in the Palouse for generations, I’m running to make county government work better for working families, seniors, and small businesses. From managing multi-million-dollar budgets at the University of Idaho to owning and operating Palouse Properties, I’ve spent my career solving problems, building consensus, and delivering results. I’ll bring that same focus to county government—prioritizing safety, infrastructure, and accountability.

Why I’m Running
County government works best when it stays focused on its core responsibilities: protecting taxpayers, supporting public safety, and planning responsibly for the future. Latah County deserves steady leadership that respects property rights, strengthens infrastructure, and ensures growth benefits the entire community. My campaign centers on four priorities that will keep our county strong for generations to come.
- Schoenberg’s platform centers on fiscal responsibility, balanced growth, long‑term water planning, and strong infrastructure.
- Transparent, Responsible Budgeting: Dan supports clear, efficient budgeting that aligns spending with community priorities and provides easy public access to county decisions.
- Growth That Fits Latah County: He advocates for property‑respecting, locally guided growth that protects farmland, supports small businesses, and focuses development where infrastructure already exists.
- Securing Water for Future Generations: Dan supports research‑based, regionally coordinated water planning that protects the aquifer while preserving local control.
- Infrastructure & Public Safety: Maintaining safe roads, utilities, and emergency services remains a core county responsibility.
