Priorities

County government functions best when it focuses on its core duties: protecting taxpayers, supporting public safety, and planning responsibly. My approach emphasizes limited, transparent, and accountable government built around four priorities: fiscal responsibility, balanced growth, long‑term water security, and strong infrastructure.

Transparency and Fiscal Responsibility

Tax dollars must be managed carefully. I support clear, efficient budgeting tied to community priorities, along with easy public access to agendas, documents, and meeting recordings to strengthen trust and accountability.

Balanced, Property‑Respecting Growth

Growth should reflect local character while protecting property rights. I support updated land‑use policies, support for small businesses, economic development and targeted growth in areas where infrastructure already exists. This approach protects farmland and rural communities while preventing strain on county services.

Securing Water Resources

Long‑term water planning is essential. I support research‑based, regionally coordinated water management that preserves the aquifer without unnecessary regulation, ensuring that growth and conservation remain balanced and locally controlled.

Infrastructure, Public Safety, and Long‑Range Planning

Maintaining safe, reliable infrastructure—roads, utilities, and emergency services—is a core responsibility of county government. We must ensure first responders have the resources they need and address long‑standing challenges, such as the county jail, in ways that support public safety and respect taxpayers.
